Importing heavyish stuff from the UK

Hi Guys,

I found a rare RS1800 HO inlet manifold for my car for quite a bargin.

Now the problem is, I looked at DHL's prices at I think it going to cost me around R2000 to get it here.
I figure it would be about 10KG

Royal mail only do up to 5kg.

Do anyone know of an alternative that isn't so expensive ?
I can get the manifold for R800 with injectors + TB so the R2k is still worth it for me but would like to cut it a bit down

Wayne, DHL's forté is document couriering. I was told by the local office that their charges for goods are somewhat O.T.T. & rather use someone like Time Freight for local goods. My quote from DHL for a 16kg gate motor from JHB to Newcastle was R700! Mal!
Ask Roy if he can confirm the 10kg weight on the manifold.

Its a better flowing manifold than my plastic 2.0 one and it begin aluminuim(or cast iron, don't really know ) it can be matched when I do my head

Problem to start ids that it is a used item and you need a special permit for used parts, you could pick up a problem with customs.

Unfortunately no cheap way to import anything into SA, just have to try your luck with direct shipping and hope for the best, just make sure it does not go through TNT as they are full of Cr@p and could impound the shipment,(happened to me twice already with them) DHL deliveries are still the best but trhety are expensive.
